DL Notch
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 22 October 2026
Last updated: 22 October 2026
DL Notch works on your device without an account. Your dock settings, app selections, Shelf content, calculations, and Timer or Focus sessions are processed locally. The App does not upload this information to Diveno Labs and has no advertising, integrated analytics, or integrated third-party crash-reporting SDK. Optional notification access and information you voluntarily send for support are explained below.
1. About this policy
DL Notch (the “App”, Android package com.divenolabs.dlnotch) is developed and operated by Rahul Shekhawat, sole proprietor of Diveno Labs, based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India (“we”, “our”, or “us”).
This policy explains how information is accessed, used, stored, and shared when you use the App or contact us about it. Use of the Diveno Labs website is covered separately by the Diveno Labs website privacy policy.
2. Information used on your device
The App uses the following information to provide the features you choose:
- Apps and folders: Android provides the names, icons, and package/activity identifiers of launchable apps so you can choose and open shortcuts. Your Favorites, Quick Access selections, folder names, folder contents, and ordering are saved locally. The App does not upload your installed-app information or use it to build an advertising profile.
- Dock preferences: Your chosen edge, position, size, feedback preferences, and notification-glow settings are saved locally.
- Shelf content: Notes, text, links, titles, images, item identifiers, ordering, and Keep choices that you save are stored in the App’s private storage. Images you select or share are copied into private storage and may be resized and converted for display. The App accesses the image you choose through Android’s picker or a sharing permission; it does not scan your photo library. Saving a link does not automatically open it or download its contents.
- Calculator: Expressions and results are processed on the device. The App does not upload calculations or maintain a persistent calculation-history database.
- Timer and Focus: The selected mode, duration, remaining or paused time, timing deadlines, session identifier, and running/completed state are stored locally so a session can continue or be restored. Device time and reboot information are used to keep the countdown accurate. Focus does not monitor which apps you use.
You do not need to provide your name, email address, phone number, or an account to use these features.
3. Clipboard access
When you choose Paste & Save, the App reads the current clipboard text and saves it to your Shelf. You can also paste into a text field using Android’s editing controls. The App does not continuously monitor the clipboard or automatically collect everything you copy.
When you choose Copy for a Shelf item or calculator result, the selected text is placed on the Android system clipboard. Android, clipboard-sync features you enable, and apps into which you paste that text may handle it under their own settings and policies. Deleting a Shelf item or clearing the App’s storage does not clear copies already placed on the clipboard or pasted elsewhere.
4. Optional notification access
Notification glow is optional and is off by default. If you enable it and grant notification access in Android Settings, Android can deliver notification records to the App while its notification listener is connected, including when the App’s main screen is closed.
The App uses the originating app’s package identifier, notification key, ongoing/group-summary status, and notification importance and interruption status to show a glow for eligible notifications from the Favorites you select. Android’s notification-access permission is broader than these limited uses. The App does not extract or save notification titles, message bodies, or sender names, and does not upload notification records to Diveno Labs or another server.
Eligible notification keys and originating package identifiers are held in memory to track pending notifications. They are removed when the notification is removed or no longer eligible, and the in-memory list is cleared when the listener disconnects or is destroyed. Your glow preferences and selected apps remain saved locally.
You can turn off Notification glow in the App or revoke notification access in Android Settings. Turning off glow stops the feature’s tracking; revoking Android notification access stops the system from delivering notifications to the listener.
5. Permissions and system features
- Display over other apps: Used to show the edge dock and the Shelf, calculator, and session controls over other apps. This does not record your screen or read the contents of other apps’ screens.
- Foreground service: Keeps the dock available after you activate it and provides an ongoing service notification with a stop action.
- Post notifications: Used for the App’s service and Timer/Focus completion notifications. This is separate from permission to access other apps’ notifications.
- Alarms and reminders: Optional special access is used to schedule precise Timer/Focus completion alerts. Without it, Android may delay an alert.
- Receive boot completed: Used to check and reschedule a saved Timer/Focus session after a device restart.
- Selected image access: Android grants access to an image you deliberately choose or share. The App does not request broad photo-library or shared-storage access.
You can manage permissions and special access in Android Settings. Disabling access may limit the related feature. The App does not request the Internet permission, an Accessibility Service, usage-access permission, or direct access to your location, contacts, SMS, call logs, camera, or microphone.
6. Data transmission, advertising, and third parties
The App has no account system, Diveno Labs cloud sync, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or integrated third-party crash-reporting SDK. It does not collect advertising identifiers, sell or rent your app data, or send your saved content, app selections, clipboard text, or notification information to our servers.
When you choose to open a saved link, Android passes that link to a browser or another suitable app. When you launch a shortcut, the selected app opens. Those apps and websites operate under their own privacy policies. They may transmit information when you use them.
Android, Google Play, and your device manufacturer may separately process distribution, security, or diagnostic information under their own policies and your settings. Such platform processing is separate from an analytics or crash-reporting SDK embedded in DL Notch.
7. Storage and security
Saved settings, Shelf content, and session state use Android’s private app storage. The App relies on Android’s application sandbox and device security protections. It does not provide a separate password-protected or independently encrypted vault for Shelf content. Content you open in the dock is visible on your screen.
Use a device screen lock and choose carefully what you save, copy, or display. No storage or security measure can guarantee absolute protection.
8. Backup and device transfer
The App disables Android cloud backup through its backup configuration and does not provide its own cloud backup or sync service. However, on some devices, manufacturer or operating-system device-to-device transfer tools may still transfer app data. Their behavior depends on your device, Android version, provider, and settings. Diveno Labs does not receive or control those transfers.
Manage device backup and migration options through your device or provider. Deleting local app data does not necessarily delete copies you have made elsewhere or copies held by a device-transfer provider.
9. Retention, deletion, and your choices
- Shelf: Saved items remain until you delete them or remove the App’s data. The label “Temporary” does not mean automatic timed deletion. Clear temporary deletes items that are not marked Keep; kept items remain. You can delete kept items individually. Deleting an item also removes its associated private image copy when no saved item uses that copy; it does not delete your original image in another app or location.
- Settings and app selections: These remain until you change them or remove the App’s data.
- Timer/Focus: The current session record remains until you end or dismiss the session, or remove the App’s data. A completed session may remain until dismissed; the App does not maintain a session-history database.
- Notification glow: Notification tracking is held in memory as described in Section 4; glow preferences are saved until changed or app data is removed.
- All local app data: You can remove it using Android Settings → Apps → DL Notch → Storage → Clear storage/data, or by uninstalling the App and choosing to remove its data. Labels vary by device. This removes your local settings, folders, selections, Shelf content, and saved session state.
There is no DL Notch account to delete. We cannot remotely view, recover, or delete data held only on your device. Copies in other apps, clipboard services, or device-transfer systems must be managed separately.
10. Support communications and privacy requests
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include, such as your name, app version, device details, screenshots, attachments, and correspondence. This information is used to respond, troubleshoot problems, maintain support records, and address security or legal matters. Do not include passwords or unnecessary sensitive content.
Support information may be processed by our email and support-service providers to deliver and manage correspondence. We do not sell it or use it for advertising profiles. We may disclose it when necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, or at your request.
We retain support correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the enquiry, maintain relevant support records, or meet legal obligations. Contact care@divenolabs.in to request access, correction, or deletion of information you have sent us, or to raise a privacy concern. We will handle requests subject to applicable law and any necessary legal retention.
11. Children’s privacy
The App does not request a date of birth and has no account registration. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent personal information to us through support, contact care@divenolabs.in so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the App’s features or information-handling practices change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated date. Where required, we will provide additional notice and obtain consent before introducing new uses of personal information.
